Why you should EVEN CARE ABOUT jesus
Jesus was the most important person in History
- We measure time and history based on Jesus' birth. B.C. and B.C.E. (Until a few decades ago known as A.D. (Year of our lord) are measured based on before and after Jesus was born
- Non-Christian historian H. G. Wells agrees. When asked who has left the greatest legacy on history, he replied, “By this test Jesus stands first.”
- During His life, Jesus included women in His inner circle, associated with the outcasts and the poor, blessed children, and disregarded economic or national status. The example of Jesus led to a completely different view of the worth of children, women, slaves, and the disabled than the societies of the ancient world.
- The very fact that we have literacy today was a result of Jesus. Christian Monasteries kept learning and knowledge alive in the dark ages, and literacy itself was to teach the masses to read the story of Jesus
- Most major universities were all founded by Christians to study Jesus, there would be no higher education system if it were not for him
- Most of the world's most famous Art and Literary works were based on Jesus
- The Modern Social Servies system of charity was began by Christians in the name of Jesus. In addition, Slavery's abolishment in the U.S. was due to followers of Jesus.
- Historian Philip Schaff says “This Jesus of Nazareth, without money and arms, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Mohammed, and Napoleon; without science [...] he shed more light on things human and divine than all philosophers and scholars combined; without the eloquence of schools, he spoke such words of life as were never spoken before or since, and produced effects which lie beyond the reach of orator or poet; without writing a single line, he set more pens in motion, and furnished themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, learned volumes, works of art, and songs of praise than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times.”
- Sadly, wars have been fought, and borders of whole nations have been changed all in the name of Jesus. Yet this does not change the central Fact, Jesus' impact on history is un-matched by anyone else. Not bad for a poor homeless guy in a small village of an occupied nation whose public life lasted a mere 3 years.
Jesus is still important today to so many people
- 2.5 billion people today claim to follow Jesus, that's one-third of the entire world's population
- You will see people waving signs, T-shirts etc. all about Jesus
- Major world leader's including the President claim to follow him
- Wherever you go you will find schools, colleges, hospitals, charities, adoption agencies, all operating because of Jesus
- Jesus name today provokes immediate controversy either people claim to dedicate their lives to him, or hatefully reject him. No-one else provokes such a reaction.
- Finally, countless people like me claim Jesus Christ is alive and well living inside them and directly impacting their lives...the flood of witnesses is too many to count. YOU JUST CAN'T GET AWAY FROM JESUS AND HIS IMPACT. SHOULDN'T YOU CONSIDER THIS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO LOOK INTO?
Jesus is important to your everyday life and can help you with your life
- Jesus claimed he came "so that you will have a better (more abundant life) Don't you want to see if he can make your life better
- Jesus provided countless teachings of wisdom that surpass anything the best counselor could tell you about worry, self-esteem, popularity, what to do when others hate you, avoiding conflict. All great advice to help you in everyday life.
- Myself and countless people, will put our lives and reputations on the line telling you Jesus Christ made the difference in our lives, saved us from disaster, and continues to be our daily guide and source of strength. A popular church has a great slogan "Jesus is the answer."
Your life after this depends on who he is and what you do about it. Jesus claimed whether you live, or die is based on him and what decision you make about him.
- "I am the way the truth and the life NO ONE comes to the father except through me."
- "He who believes in me will never die"
- "so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life."
- "and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand."
- “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."
- "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
If true, do you want to ignore that? Will you bet that there is no after-life and ignore what Jesus said? It's literally the difference between life and death
